A common problem. I don't think you acted reasonably here though - before OR after the fact.
For instance, suppose this had been some crazed lunatic guy who wanted to embarrass you in public? Or beat the crap out of you? You went to meet without any evidence of who you were meeting. You also apparently gave an address (to find out "she" lived so close by) - what if some nutjob then showed up at your front door wearing just a diaper? How could you have explained that. A piece of advice - ALWAYS talk to the person on the phone first, and ALWAYS meet first in a very crowded place, where both of you can view the other before deciding to sit down.
After the fact, you sent "threatening emails". I want you to know that this is a crime. You can be arrested for it. It matters not what the person did to you - you can NOT threaten them. And what good did it do anyway? Obviously it hasn't made you feel any better, or you would not have made the above post. Obviously it has not scared the person in question. He or she will only change names and come back as someone else and start the process all over. You gave him/her EXACTLY the reaction they were hoping for. It's how they get kicks.
But anyway, that which does not kill you makes you stronger. Or at least wiser. Hopefully, you have learned something so that next time you will be able to act wiser because of experience.
