A lot of good answers. A few days ago I was very very full while driving to work. I could not do anything overy because of the lovely woman I drive sitting next to me. I found my right foot shaking from all the pressure I was putting on my sphincters.
If I were able to rub or hold my cock, that would simply "shake up the general area" to send a signal to my muscles to hold on a bit longer. Holding the cock in no way is pinching it to stop the flow; as stated earlier if I being to leak, that squirt is already lost and pinching the cock is impossibly painful, but rubbing may stop the flow for a while.
I never cross my legs - it applies pressure on the bladder. If sitting where I can be seen I will probably spread my legs. If standing, walking around helps. Standing still just lets the pressure build with nothing to help out the bladder muscles.
I hope this helps.
