You behaved in a gallant manner toward this unfortunate girl . . . good for you! Glad she wasn't hurt (at least physically). Your "cover up" was good, particularly for the many (I'm sure) people who saw this young lady from at least a few feet distance. Unfortunately, the cops and others who may have been in very close proximity would not likely be fooled because of the smell of her urine. But if they were as gallant as you, they pretended not to know that she had wet herself. I had a somewhat similar experience a good many years ago. I was walking into a downtown building on a Sunday morning when a little VW Bug was hit by a car which had lost it's brakes coming down an adjacent hill. I heard multiple crashes as the car hit the VW and the VW in turn bounced off two parked cars and came to a stop next to a sidewalk. I ran toward the VW, since the other, larger, car did not appear seriously damaged. I heard a woman wailing loudly from the VW, and was sure that she had been badly hurt, so I ran like hell to help her. I got there in seconds, along with the driver of the other car, who was sure, from the screaming, that he had seriously hurt the VW driver. We found, thank God, that she was not badly hurt. She had only a very minor cut on her knee, not even enough to need stitches, and her screaming and tears were caused solely by fright. She was a young woman in her early or middle 20's and she had stopped wailing, but was crying hysterically for her mother. After awhile, I got her calmed down, and helped her out of the car and into the lobby of a nearby hotel, where we could call the police and the girl's mother, and put something on her knee. There was an obvious smell of urine and I saw that she had completely wet the back of her skirt. I had no jacket or other garment to shield her with, so I walked close behind while assisting her into the hotel, to hide her bottom. It being a Sunday, not many people were on the street, so I think only myself, the hotel desk clerk, and possibly the other driver, realized that she had peed herself.
