I do know how you feel. It's really disheartening to post something and have now comments.

You may be right about people posting on one installment and thinking it is enough. Also, I tend not to post on each chapter of a multi-part story, because I feel that I should leave some space for other, fresh opinions.

It's kind of the same for replying daily. Some days I seem to respond to lots of messages, so I think "Well, I'll shut up for a while, they are all probably sick of hearing from me by now." So it may be a bit of that, too.

This is the same problem many of the new posters face...the lack of response. But, with new people, I think the lack is more out of shyness or reserve. Sometimes it is hard to respond to a new person, because you feel you don't know them as well as the 'old friends' who have been on the board for some time. I noticed that my first few posts got little or no response, but I did continue to watch and write and post, and eventually people got to know who I was and became more at ease.

As far as the simple, one or two word replies, I don't mind the "Thanks" type, or the "Nice Story" ones, but I don't care for the ones the simply say "It sucked!" Why did it suck? Is it a fault of the writing style? Was it unrealistic? Or was it just not appealing to the responder's fancy? I'd rather hear "I'm not into that," or "That sounds unbelievable," than just someone saying it sucked. How can I improve my skills without valid critiques?

I do hope you'll continue the tale, as I will miss it when it is over (thank goodness for the archives!). But then, Leena is getting close to a 'cure', isn't she?
