I think any time someone has a fantasy that predominates, it can be very easy for the fantasy to take precedence over the person. It leaves a woman to wonder whether the guy is with her because she satisfies his fetish or because of who she is as a person and your attempt to wrestle with it is admirable. It doesn't even have to be a fetish. Some people are with others because they just want to avoid being lonely. Real love is about loving the person for who they are-not primarily because that person fulfills our needs or desires.
