Your post raises an issue I've been struggling with. The fixation on the object, no matter what we say, moves the object to the fore while obscuring the person. Do I love her because she's little, or do I love her because she's the person I love? Your last sentence seemingly refutes the subject of the preceding sentence. She is most important, but... There is no but there. That's not good enough for her. The fixation we have explains a lot about our scene. I love her. Whether she is being childish, or studying or working or playing or pouting at me or wanting to know if she did okay? The control we're using seems to degenerate into rampant objectivism. And its unfortunate because our desires aren't objectively bad. What could be better than a sexual ethic or lifestyle that emphasizes innocence, mercy and care-taking to the point of major self-denial (she's on that changing table to be changed, not for you to get your rocks off). I'm really, really struggling with this one. I guess I've had to recognize my own narcissism in terms of my sexuality.
