Imperial money went like this:
2 farthings in a ha'penny, 2 ha'pennies in a penny, 12 pennies in a shilling, 20 shillings in a pound (the exact weight of the pure metal). A soverign was a £1 gold coin, and a guinea was 21 shillings.
