Some (not all!) privacy suggestions
1. You can use Drivecrypt, Bestcrypt or Scramdisk (free) to make a virtual encrypted hard disk to save your files.
2. You have to use programs like Evidence eliminator; Window Washer to get rid of traces that are left everywhere on a Windows PC.
3. You have to use a program like Eraser or BC Wipe to wipe your hard drive. Normally when you delete a file, (including cookies, history files, Web catches, pictures) it’s still on your hard drive. It’s only gone from your file list but can easily been undeleted.
4. You also have to clean your registry with a Registry Cleaner, like Registry Mechanic, NBG CleanReg, Registry Cleaner, RegClean.
If you open the file user.dat you will be shocked! Everything you did on your PC is listed there. Internet Pages you have visited, passwords, videos and pics you have opened, saved or edited. Everything!
5. You also have to defrag your hard disk regularly.
6. You have to detect Spyware with a program like AdAware.
7. You have to use a virus scanner.
8. You have to use a FireWall to lock your PC for others.
9. Use a proxy server to protect your IP adress.
To be 80% sure (100% privacy is not possible on a Windows PC) you have to do all this at least everyday! Windows Sucks! :(
