The other night I was tucked up in bed, trying to get the music from band practise out of my head, and go to sleep.
I had the radio on and tuned to Radio Pacific, a nation-wide phone-in talkshow.
They were having one of those 'tell your most embarrassing experiences' nights. A couple stand out, one for the humour, and the other for the wow!
The first went like this, in a 40-year-old woman's voice.
"I remember going out on a date with my then boyfriend and his parents. We went to an Agricultural Show, (the Canterbury A&P, for those who know it) and were walking around the various exhibits. We stopped and bought some lollies. (Candy) My boyfriend's father bought some licorice straps. (A strap-shaped piece of firm licorice, like a child's trouser-belt.)He stuck one end in his mouth and was pulling on it trying to bite it off, when suddenly his false teeth shot out still stuck in the licorice, and dropped to the ground into a pile of cow-poo!
This was too much for me and I burst out laughing, and I'm afraid I had a wee accident in my pants, and had to go back to the car to take them off."
The other story was from a young-sounding woman, 20ish.
"I was at my elder sister's place. She's got two wee kids, 3 and 5. I was outside playing with them, and she called out to me that she was going down to the shops, and could I watch the kids. They are little terrors.
When she had gone, I wanted to go to the toilet. The kids came into the house with me, running around yelling and screaming, and I was yelling at them too. I opened the toilet door, and backed in while I was pulling my pants down. I was quite desperate, and I sat down and started to wee, only to discover that I was weeing all over my brother-in-law's hairy legs!"
Well...I just wish she was MY sis-in law!
