Yeah, I hate spam as much as you!!! And that includes junk email, commercial sex sites, telemarketers, imposters on message boards...the whole enchilada!
I would like to see someone put together a match-making service (geared toward "unusual" interests) which is NOT trying to make money. I know, it costs for bandwidth, etc. But there ought to be a way to run a really efficient, NON-PROFIT, service that cuts right to the chase, preventing participation by spammers.
In fact, I would pay...IF I knew it was going to work. But all the problems you encountered, I also have.
I'll keep thinking on it.
