I would no more accept the inevitability of war until the 2nd coming than I would the persistence of famine, disease, intolerance and all the other pains of modern life. We have to fight all of these things ourselves. That's the only form of combat I can endorse.
Yes, I'm being idealistic, but as a philosopher once said "You've got to have a dream. If you don't have a dream, how you gonna make a dream come true?"
p.s. Wasn't it Bush that let Saddam off the hook?
