A previous girlfriend who was not into water sports related this to me. She did not know of my morbid interest but it touched a nerve. I have tried to write it from her perspective. Hope you like it.
I wet the bed until I was 17. My parents tried all sorts of things. They would get enthusiastic about one treatment and then when that did not work they would give up for a while before embracing the next cure.
When I was 8 my mum got sick of washing sheets and made me wear nappies to bed. They were ordinary large toddler size disposable nappies. Although they were tight they still fitted me. The silly thing about it was that I would be made to put it on when I changed into my nightie about 7 pm. My bed time was 8 pm. Often when I was sent to bed I would be needing to go to the toilet but mum would say, "you should have gone before you got changed". Or "its only been an hour you can’t need to go yet". So I would lie in bed not being able to get to sleep because I needed to go so eventually I would just wet my self so that I could stop thinking about it.
I wore the nappies every night until I was 13 when I simply could not fit into them any more. So this meant more wet sheets. Mum went through another phase where she said it was my responsibility to wash the sheets. I was often in a hurry to get to school so I would forget to wash them and hang them out. I got lazy and would just leave them on the bed wet. Then at night I would crawl into my still damp bed. In winter it would be quite cold. I started to deliberately wet it just to warm it up. Usually after a couple of days mum would complain about the smell in my room and make me wash the sheets.
For a time when I was 14, each morning dad would come into the bedroom and pull back the sheets. If I was wet, which I usually was, he would take off his belt and I would lie on my tummy and he would strap me as I lay there in my wet bed and nightie.
I finally stopped wetting when I left home at 17 to ho to university.
