I only mention it because it was a very interesting event in my life

As a checker for a local grocery store, I stayed bored 90% of the time. To occupy my mind while performing the repetitious task, I listened to the conversations of people standing in my line. One day, a certain conversation between two siblings caught my attention. Amongst the rattling of their obviously overstressed mother, I heard an older sister telling a brother that she really had to go to the bathroom very bad. I looked at the young girl (around age 13), and saw no signs of desperation, no dancing; no holding of the crotch; nothing. I wondered about this, but my register was beeping fits at me so I had to look up. To my surprise, when I looked down, the girl had already wet her pants. Not badly, but enough to make a wet patch that extended down to her mid thigh. When younger brother noticed, he started making that annoying "'ummmmmmmmmmmmmm' you did something bad and I'm going to be here to watch when you go down for it" sound. The boy then turned to his mother who was balancing an infant, keeping bread from falling out of the overfilled cart, and writing a check to the store all at the same time, and said, "Mom, Nikki just wet her pants," in a very tattle-tailish manner. The mother's response was completely out of character for the over-stressed impression I had of her. She simply looked at her daughter's pants, then to her son and said coolly, "What else is new?"
