Yes, Lynx, I too never get responses to personals, either placing them or even answering those placed by alleged females. I, too, am always gentlemanly and frank. It does make you wonder how many of those 'ladies' out there are really gay guys in disguise. To be honest, the thought of committing my feelings and experiences to one of those impostors makes me feel sick to the stomach.
Bearing in mind the above lack of success with Personals, one other thing that's always puzzled me is this - when a presumed female posts on to the board and gives her e-mail address, why do even they not reply to personal mail? One assumes that they don't mind receiving personal mail, otherwise they wouldn't give their address in the first place. Even if they just gave a short reply like 'I don't want to know' - or even 'Piss Off' :) -, it would at least be the polite thing to do. I know a few of the inveterate posters out there will say it's a public discussion board so why mail personally (and of course they're right) but a few of us may either be a little too shy (even given the anonymity) or just yearn for a private and ongoing discussion with a (genuine) member of the opposite sex.
So come on you girls. Any observations or comments on the above? And guys, do you agree?
