As a follow up to my second set of sightings tips, and the threads that ensued, it is clear that the main goal, no matter how you do it exactly, is to blend in with the surroundings and be inconspicuous. This may not always yield the best or the greatest number of sightings, but it is important for safety (your own), and longevity in being able to return to the same area time after time, particularly if there is a chance police get involved.
One recent example springs to mind at the Carols event I mentioned in the post below. There were quite a few guys out doing the pee spotting thing at various locations around the perimeter, some of you are probably reading this right now, but one guy really stood out. There was a big group of those shed style portable toilets with very long lines. There was temporary fencing around the place, but at one end the fencing had been knocked over to create a gap of about 6 feet between the back of the line of toilets and the fence. Clearly many people, guys and girls alike were skipping the lines and going behind, passing through this hole in the fencing. One guy spent most of his night standing there at the gap in the fence. Every time a woman would go behind he would follow them then come back out and stand at the gap. He probably saw many many women pee that night, however It was so obvious what he was doing he was lucky he lasted the whole night - there were many people sitting near the spot, as well as concession stands. The women would walk past only a few feet from him and then he would follow. He was I think very lucky that no-one complained to the many police or private security guards patrolling the area, or no irate husbands/boyfriends had a go at him. This person may be reading this - I am well aware of that. He certainly saw more than I did that night. However, whilst this is the case he was far more likely to be accosted or asked to move on by police. Of course, he had no explanation for what he was doing - which I think is all part of being inconspicuous, making it look like you have a reason for being where you are, apart from watching desperate women take a leak. I would like to think that whilst I easily spotted him as obviously sharing my interest, it was very unlikely that he spotted me. This sort of activity is easy and very tempting - but increases the risk of yourself getting in trouble. This isn’t meant to be a sermon although I guess it does sound like it, to each their own – its just that I know what happens when you get tempted one too many times, and it is not something I want to go through again, and hopefully I can prevent some of you experiencing that as well.
