Now was Ellis really condemned for this? Granted
he discussed urophilia ad infinitum because he
wore our badge, but I suspect he really knew it
was outside the realm of (at least for the time)
normal behavior. This has already been discussed
by folks like Kraft Ebbing with his "renfilleurs"
whatever that means.
And I had thought most of the criticism he caught
was for his frank and open discussion of *any*
aspects of sexuality - I have not heard of any
directed right at his (Ellis')w/s discussions.
Indeed I had always sort of put him in the same
boat as Alfred Kinsey - the Sexual Behavior in
the Human Male/Female was met with similar
condemnation as Ellis' works, only because
the entire subject was wrong for the times.
But I have to agree with the basic premise here,
that humans have done quite a lot to sublimate
and disguise the underlying biology, but when
you scratch a bit below the surface we're all
just walkin talkin animals - and we react like
them too. So when our noses perk up, and our
pupils dilate, and our ears go *boing* when
we see/hear/smell a potential sex partner
leaving her scent on the pavement, its no
wonder at all.
