(Sorry, the format and the pseudonymn on this post are an in joke for UK crusties)
Hello again Avids. This is Sounds Of The Sixties with your old mate Brian Matthew. I would like to contribute to a discussion on an Internet website by saying that quite a number of sixties groups provoked mass wetting among their fans. Apart from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones I believe that The Kinks, The Small Faces, The Pretty Things and even The Hollies all left theatres bemoaning the Flooded floors. "There isn't a dry seat in the house" became a common lament among managers and cleaning staff alike. Stateside, both The Beach Boys and The Byrds were reputed to leave theatres similarly afflicted.
So, Avids, if you know of any others, please let us know. And what about the boys? I did hear once that boys were reputed to wet themselves at Ronettes concerts. I have often wondered if this is true. Did any other girl groups inspire a similar reaction?
