When they are hanging in the shower, the poop is not still in them, and they have already been rinsed.
If you can't get your stains out, you might be using the wrong method or soap. I rinse mine as soon as I can, then soak them. After that I put them in the wash. Most/All of my stains come out. In fact, I'll wear my panties out before they show a lot of stain. You know about that - that's when they develop holes from too much scrubbing...
