It sounds to me as if you really don't want to be actually caught in the act, and I can relate to that. I don't think I could handle the embarrassment now, and when I was younger and still working, my position/authority in the company (or in the community for that matter) would have been at stake.
That didn't keep me from having a little fun at the end of the day, though. I would often go to the single-person restroom at the end of the day, add a pair of pull-ups and plastic pants over my (*blush*) panties for odor and visual protection and add some pee and a small lump to them. Then I'd immediately leave the building and head for the car. Or I'd wait until I was in the parking lot or in my car before doing my deed.
I'd also wear that type of a "system" while out shopping and add a little spice to the chore. Never enough to be noticed; just enough for me to enjoy.
When taking a long trip (and just about any trip is a long trip here in the desert southwest!), I wear something similar and just go as I care to. Sometimes that means very little, but sometimes I can be a real mess by the time I get home! Sometimes it is a good thing to live alone!
