No it's not what you think. I've got this great big orange kitty cat, 18 lbs of intensely affectionate fur-covered flab. Just about the most mellow, laid-back animal you could ever hope for. Among other things he loves to have his belly scratched. The relevance of this will become apparent in a moment.
His favorite way to get my attention is to jump up on top of the briefcase I keep propped against the file cabinet next to my chair, and meow insistently until I give up whatever I'm doing and reach over and give him a rub.
Well this morning I'm skimming the news online before heading off to work and there he is again, meowing pitifully as usual. Who could ignore such a sweetie? Without taking my eyes off the screen I absentmindedly reached over and started rubbing his belly, and he melted into my hand and purred away contentedly. Then I started rubbing his chest (his second favorite activity) and he was in total bliss, leaning into me and purring loudly, almost falling off the briefcase he was balanced on.
I looked over to see if he was ok, and - oh my god - his tail was where I expected his head to be, and visa-versa. Gulp. Yes ladies and gentlemen, you are reading the words of someone who has vigorously massaged their cat's crotch, who by all indications seemed to thoroughly enjoy the experience. He gave me that "Why did you stop?" look, and I went and used up half a bar of soap washing my hands. I was 5 minutes late for work.
Tonight when I got home, he jumped up onto the briefcase and - was that a wink?
