While it's possible that diet may have something to do with it, I'm more inclined to think that bacteria is causing the pee to break down. Bacteria can stubbornly remain on clothing if you don't do something to eliminate it. I started using hydrogen peroxide bleach for just that reason. Also, when drying use the hottest setting to heat the fabric up real good. If you're wearing pants on top, check that they may not be contributing to the problem. Look and see if there is any synthetic fiber content anywhere, even a tiny amount can bother some people. So check to make sure the fiber content is actually 100% cotton. You might switch to cloth diapers and babypants to see if that makes a difference. If they're clean and heavy enough (double-diapering) you should be able to get sopping wet and stay that way for a very long time. It's worth the extra effort to keep the wetties up front, so wet lying on your tummy, or on all fours. Yes, the naughty scent of wet pants and diapers is good, I like it !!
