Thank you all for your responses.
Babie barbie - snap-sided pants was something I’d been thinking about, and since you seem to like them so much I think we’ll have to invest in a pair. 9.30pm bedtime – what a luxury!! Mine’s 8pm during the week and a little later at the weekend as I have a nap during the day. Yes it was hard to get used to – I have a love-hate relationship with the idea and sometimes I still rebel a little. I think I’ll start a separate thread on the subject so that others can share their thoughts.
LE – thank you for your perspective as a daddy. I understand what you say about the ”uniform” look you favour for LGs and indeed to an extent I think that ritualism and routine are so important for us little ones. That said, I enjoy variety and fortunately my daddy and I share a love of trying different outfits. As I said, we don’t agree on everything, but the fact that he will firmly insist on me wearing something that isn’t my preferred choice is definitely part of the relationship we have.
As regards outdoor wear – that’s a tricky one. I’m not into public display and have no desire that anyone would know about our very special relationship except daddy and me. So up to now there’s been nothing obvious to others – though I have, of course, worn nappies in public. A surreptitious pat on my nappied bottom or a whispered reference to me needing changing when we get home are public enough for me. I imagine, though, that in the future we might play in the company of like-minded couples and having someone else’s daddy see me in my nappy will be embarrassing enough, though it will do a lot, I think, to reinforce my rightful status as LG in the company of adults. We’ll see.
The closest we came to public display was one evening when we went for a drive with me strapped into the back seat and dressed fully in LG mode from short frilly dress, and visible frilly pants to hair in bunches and dummy. It was exhilarating and scary – not knowing whether we might be stopped for a routine police check, or the thought that a lorry driver at a set of traffic lights may look down and see exactly how I was dressed. Fortunately neither of these things happened, but the frisson of excitement was amazing.
Mbob – the baby burrito image was very cute and made me smile.
Thanks again.
