I am sure many others may want to contribute on some of your questions. Time forbids a fuller answer from me, but as a Daddy who has found an AB/LG, (Adult Baby, Little Girl) I just wanted to say that your experiences sound like you should at least try and explore that aspect of your sexuality. My girl was also embarrassed and very unsure of how she felt. There was a connection with this type of site and the posts etc., but her adult self was telling her she must be weird or wrong. The push was too strong and she very bravely posted an ad on www.diapermates.com (in its previous incarnation) and I responded. The rest, as they say, is (recent) history. The one thing we now know is she feels her ABLG side is one she will always want in a relationship from now on.
Give yourself space and time, but be brave and explore, you may find a whole new side to yourself that you wanted to express but never have. Please feel free to email if you want to know more, but equally please ignore if this message is of no use.
