It really really does suck when you are talking to someone and they just suddenly stop replying, as least I don't feel so down in the dumps knowing it happens to others, I've had it happen about 4 times to me and the last time was particually heart breaking as I felt very in love with the person and thought they were with me (well as much as you can be from chatting and texting anyway)
I make a point of never going blank on anyone, even if I decide I don't want to chat to them again. It hurts much less just to tell them that than leave them wondering.
