I want to learn to sew, and to sew myself some cloth diapers!! I'm really excited about it but not sure where to start. I've got an old sewing machine (sadly with no manual) but at this point I know nothing about sewing and am trying to teach myself hehe.
I think (hope) I've got the basics figured out (though if anyone knows of any websites describing the basics of sewing for people who know *nothing* that'd be great too)
So what I'm curious about....is what's everyone's favorite types of diapers and why? I know disposables are popular for that plasticy feel, and the ease of cleanup. But what types of cloth diapers do people like?
I've been looking at a lot of websites with patterns for baby diapers. I'm thinking of making an All in One type that's a bit fitted, with cute baby fabrics. And maybe some of the standard prefolds to use as soakers and make cleanup easier. What's everyone's opinion or suggestions?
Also I'm curious what the best places are to buy plastic pants, or if anyone knows where to get fabric to make them. I'm a big bargian hunter so I'm looking for the best quality and cheapest prices.
