While I do think that would be the easiest approach to having a shorter nightie... I would be concerned about the WIDTH of the sizing. In my experience, going down a size doesn't usually make the item considerably shorter, just tighter! The clothes industry tends to subscribe to some strange notion that almost all women are the same height, just a different width. Makes clothes shopping very hard for tall girls and short girls (that's me!).
