Hmmm, well we all risk something putting ourselves out there and opening up the most sacrosanct parts of our personality to others. It's the risk we take when we love, or form intimate bonds of deep friendship that makes it worth that risk.
Attempts to stifle this flow of emotional energy (loving someone else, letting ourselves be loved, laying bare our innermost selves or being true to a portion of our natures) are always going to leave us with an inherent sense of loss. Maybe this sense of loss will go away entirely, or fade to a vague, occasional sense of "what if?" I don't know.
If you're worried about striking a balance and learning to turn off the little girl spigot (so to speak), then that may take some time and figuring out. In the end, are you going to be any less worse for wear if you don't try? Well, I can't say for sure, but who is to say that experiencing your 'little space' is going to enervate you? It might just help some of the pieces fit into place. You might find that your workaday week is suddenly easier to focus on and get through. Addressing and having this side of yourself nurtured may open up growth opportunities for you. Also, any friend/lover/Daddy worth his salt will probably want to help you find a balance that allows you to live a healthy, productive life (as opposed to an all consuming lifestyle), so it's not to say that figuring your way through the little girl thing would be something you'd do all by your lonesome.
Anyway, I'm not here to sell you on being an L.G. You have the inclination and desire, but it's up to you to decide what's worth trying.
Then again, I could have totally misread your response and not understood what angle you were coming at this from, and where your true concern lay...
