John, in a way I think you're right, but your '95%' is a bit high. There are those who were in some way mentally abused, sometimes by well-meaning parents (these were usually bedwetters). There are those that had loving parents and no known 'reason'.
In the end, its a bit like cancer. Some people have a reason for getting it, some who have a good reason never do. Some ill never know what caused it. Of course, diapers never killed anyone.
