Just to respond here:
1. Don't ask if anyone wants to do it. Just organize it. This community has too many people saying, "if there is enough interest, I'll organize something" -- but then who never organize a thing. If you want a gathering, then organize it. Pick a place, set a date, make announcements and email those privately who you would like to attend.
2. Your event doesn't *have* to be in Manhattan or NYC for that matter. Manhattan is convenient, but isn't the only possible location. If you want to organize, then organize something convenient for you.
3. And with respect to your comment, "and DR has certainly served his term in that capacity." -- this isn't a competition L.E. I'm still serving my term, as SIDNY will return shortly, but I see no reason why the NY area shouldn't have two, three, five or ten ABDL groups, gatherings, munches, party groups, etc.
4. I'm not "challenging" you as you put it. Rather, I'm suggesting to you that if you want a gathering, then why wait for others' approval to have it? Why say, "a gathering would be nice" when you can organize it yourself? Life is too short to wait for someone else to step up.
5. In the past, I have *always* offered my help to others who wanted to organize in the NY area (and elsewhere.) Just as I'm glad to help you. I'll gladly promote you on SIDNY, and I'm useful when it comes to planning a diaper event. My email hasn't changed L.E., so email me if you would like my assistance.
