there are lots of dishonest people in life who like to play games and lead people on.. it's even easier for this type of person online.. it takes mintutes to set up a profile on a website and pose as a genuine person looking to meet someone.. at first you have no way of assessing someone's honesty when you're only chatting online.. they can pretty much lie about anything they like (even their sex).. in my experience there are also lots of attached people pretending to be single to gain some attention... that said there are people out there who are genuine, honest and looking to meet people.. so hang in there..
try not to take it personally, it's nothing you're doing wrong.. you're just experiencing bad luck with loosers.. there are genuine people out there, so don't give up..
also, in my humble opinion, even though it's hard given the nature of why you got talking.. try to keep things from getting too intimate too soon.. it's never worked for me.. i am sure there are those it does work for but taking time to build a friendship of this nature won't do any harm..
