I have been exposed at work by a girlfriend who was snooping through my stuff. it was terrifying and the damage still lingers. My advice is to find a way to make a living so that you don't depend on anyone for long term employment. Start a business that makes you independant.
This is obviously not the end all solution, but in my view, supporting yourself is the most important issue.
Then just be careful on what you share and who you share it with. You can't really control things entirely. It will always be a possibility that those around you will find out.
Personally I don't care anymore if they do. I'm not a axe murder or druggie or some loser. I have a good living and a good heart. If people want to hold me hostage over my age play - so be it.
