I would certainly expect a first meeting with anyone to be completely ordinary, public, etc. And in eighteen years of online kinkprowl I have never once asked a woman for her phone number.
But I can't go along with those who demand that those who meet be on an unequal footing (the information you're saying never to give is typically information that safecall-advocates demand that the man give...some say get a copy of his driver's license before you meet him, etc).
I try to approach everything with an attitude of "I ask for nothing,I expect nothing",because the pessimist is never unpleasantly surprised;to treat each contact with an interesting woman as a gift beyond what I could count on,much as I crave someone dependably there for me.
But my basic safety precaution is to avoid anyone paranoid enough to think me,beside whom Caspar Milquetoast looks like Rambo on the predatoriness scale,an appropriate subject of safety precautions. If a woman tells me to buzz off once,I will make every effort to avoid her for the rest of my life.
If I die single,I die single...but I will never,EVER be justly accused of being too forward with a woman.I've been unjustly accused of it by women in whom I had no interest at all,I am NOT going back there.
