I'm a Daddy type, so I don't know if my input on defining these two acronyms counts for much, but I think I may have an important point or two to make.
1. PRECIOUS few ABs are diaper dependant/in diapers 24/7. While expedient for the sake of dividing these two "classes" of ageplay bottoms, I really don't think its true in but the most few cases.
2. I tend to find that the minimal interaction/comprehension/affect on the environment trait is quite overstated, as well. I think that notion applies to but a tiny fraction of ABs (at least, those I've met, corresponded with, and obvserved both online an IRL). Most ABs that I know personally do not regress to this extent even though they identify themselves as adult babies, and the number of adult babies that are able to pursue such an extreme form of regression as a liestyle seems EXTREMELY few indeed.

As a counterpoint, let me say this: I believe people who identify as LG do so mostly on a few points:

1. Gender; they identify their "littleness" with an exaggeration/expression/play on gender (that is to say "girl", be they genetic women, transwomen, or people who play crossgender (i.e. sissies). If there are self-identified "LBs" out there, I've never met one, nor have I ever seen the term used anywhere.
I've had arguments with a self-id'd LG who goes by VN Little on the definition of the term. To Little, sissies are not LGs and vice-versa (because to Little, LGs are not interested in forced play of any kind or domination, only the coddling sort of affection associated with ABs). I don't accept that definition, and am inclined to categorize those who take on feminine roles as ageplay bottoms as LGs, whether they like discipline and/or sissification (i.e. forced feminization) or not.

2. There is a strong stigma against ABs online, especially male ABs (who are the prodominant and most visible set of adult babies). Oftentimes the most obvious ABs are the loudest and the most annoying, These higher-profile ABs are the ones who insist on talking in babytalk on forums and in chat rooms and otherwise making a nuisance of themselves by roleplay ostentaciously without the consent of the rest of the venue they are in. Naturally, there are some exceptions to these stereotypes; there are female ABs that do as much to "sully" the name of the AB scene in the eyes of the broader kink/ageplay public.

3. Diapers; many ageplayers I've encountered who do not care for diapers and/or wetting/messing identify as LGs rathe than ABs because a diapered status is not implied (though many LGs do indulge in diaper/wetting/messing play, though it seems it is often less frequent or more casual).

When it comes down to it, there is a HUGE amount of diversity in terms of play stlyes in ageplayers, whether they identify as ABs or LGs. I've met ABs who have no interest in diapers, and LGs who're in them 24/7. I've had people insist to me that LG has to involve discipline, and that AB certainly does not, and I've met people who allege the exact opposite. People like objective, close-ended defintions for things. Personally the only distinction I feel can be made is this: LGs play female roles, while for ABs gender is more neutral. Then again, I've met many sissybabies and males identified as AB girls who don't know or use the term LG, so that may be just as meaningless a distinction.
I for one welcome more discourse on this, as I think its really an intersting (if controversial) subject.

all the best,

Daddy A.
