This is something I'm ambivalent on.
Having to spend evenings separated doesn't sound like it would be very helpful to a relationship,though it would certainly offer the opportunity for "me time".
Since you say it was something you insisted upon yourself (and 7PM sounds pretty extreme),rather than a rule he came up with,what does it do for you?What does it do to your sleep patterns?
I am certainly open to whatever encourages the role mindset to become more natural for her,but rules that feel oppressive can breed rebellion.Discipline has its place but it's better to avoid provoking it.
Also,this impinges on the My Bed vs. Her Crib issue.If your role age is too old for a crib this may not be relevant for you,but I would want an ABgirl definitely playing the age where this would be germane.On the one hand,I love the idea of holding my ABgirl at night,and certainly would never sleep in a crib myself.On the other it may be good for her to routinely sleep in a crib (and wake up in one).Adult size cribs are expensive and the investment wouldn't be made unless the relationship was well developed.But if there was one,it would be logical for her to be in it whenever I was not sleeping with her.
This would lead in turn to her having separate crib time and bed time...since only when I was in it would she be in my bed.But would moving from one to the other help or disrupt her training?
