I'm sorry if you don't feel like meeting your friends just because you need diapers.They may never notice the diapers if not looking for them,and if they do,they should be understanding.
So your training worked as it was supposed to...it wouldn't be much if you could just turn it off!(You might have set yourself back quite a bit if you had started trying to control it and succeeded).
Maybe some day you will mess uncontrollably too...I hope it happens as something you welcome as part of your relationship.
