with kids today (especially girls) developing earlier and earlier, i can see this play becoming more realistic over time as secondary sex characteristics become less reliable as markers of biological age.
to my knowledge, the only time i've ever passed in this manner was a very awkward moment at an std testing clinic when a nurse asked me to call my father (ex-partner) back into the building. when i colored scarlet and snapped at her 'he's not my father,' her second guess was 'retarded older brother.' holy bedside manner batman! i do get the 'little brother' assumption a lot, which can make for some interesting play opportunities, but that's a thread for a different board.
