How have you tried to communicate with him about it? Does he understand how important it is to you? How much you appreciate him tending to this particular need of yours? Are you taking good care of him in kind? Is he the one shaming you for the way you feel, or are you shaming yourself because you feel these desires are somehow wrong or bad?
If he isn't willing to daddy you, how do you feel about playing by yourself? Is it your being in little space that he objects to, or is it having to be in charge of you? There are lots of things that vanilla couples do that can take on a caring feel without too much effort. Although if you're seriously considering marrying your boyfriend, it seems like he should be willing to put some effort into making his future wife happy.
