I, like several people that I have met in the scene, tried to deny who I am and what I want in a relationship and it doesn't work.
I had a long term relationship that broke up recently that did not have any elements of daddy/lg play at all. I did well to last as long as I did because quite frankly I felt like I was living someone elses life and I felt empty inside.
I think it must be similar to a gay person trying to live a hetrosexual life. It can look ok on the service but that person will never be complete.
I guess the problem with our world is that it is so small. But at 18 you have plenty of time to find a daddy. Give it every chance....if you don't you will regret it.
