Yes, I have memories of summer bed-wetting, specifically from the summer that “opened the door” for me. Was my last summer at home with my parents. Nineteen at the time, I’d wet as a child, but it’d been years since my last true bed-wetting. Never, not in my wildest dreams, did I think I’d ever do it again. Then, out of the blue, one night after a few beers I wet the bed. It’d been so long, first thought was sweat. Mom was sympathetic. To my amazement, a few weeks later it happened again. This time mom didn’t say much, but that day she made up my bed with a rubber sheet. And once again that summer I wet the bed after a beer party. With a rubber sheet the pee had no place to go, woke up sopping wet, stain filled my bed almost to the point of overflowing. Mom was far from sympathetic.
Lastly that summer, before moving out I conducted an experiment. Staying home one evening, after my folks went to bed I downed a couple beers before doing the same. Too excited to sleep, I got up, used the bathroom, chugged another beer and crawled back in bed. Believe it or not, few hours later I woke up soaked!
