I reckon there are more people than anyone realise that wet the bed and so what I have never understood why people see it as a problem. I have always wet the bed I used to feel shame and disgust about my bedwetting as a young man but not know. I have just accepted that being a bedwetter is just part of who I am. When I was a kid my bed was often out on the lawn airing in the sun and like you mine just got a towel put under the sheet if it was still a bit damp. It wsn't until my teens that I got a proper fited cover although I did have a thick and noisy plastic sheet on for a while. Repeated bedwetting does ruin a matteras and they are just to expensive now so my bed is thoroughly protected with a thick poly sheet wrapped right round the matteras then a waterproo backed terry toweling cover under my sheet. I don't mind sleeping in a wet bed but can't be doing with the hassle of changing wet sheets every morning so I sleep in terry nappies and plastic pants most of the time.
