I used to wet my bed unprotected and my old matteras was always damp and smelly but since I got a new one it is well protected. If you do it right you can have a true wet bed feeling without ruining your expensive matteras and clean up easily in the morning. I wouldn't go back to being dry at night. I doubt I could any way.
