There are liars around and we need to treat honest people better than liars in order not to encourage the liars.
I am not saying Jill is a liar,just complaining about the "it doesn't matter if it's a lie if you pretend it's true" attitude.
Fantasies and actual happenings should always be clearly and honestly distinguished.
