Many years ago, Chambers of Merton sent me a pair of velcro drop crotch plastic pants. They weren't very good as you had to pull them up and they leaked at the front because there was not enough overlap. They were a pull up that leaked and a drop front that you still had to take your trowsers off to change them.
My continence advisor has occasionally asked if I would try incontinence things, mostly variations of condom catheters and bags, but I have also tested a couple of types of drop front, all in one washable/reusable nappys.
The one used a breathable waterproof membrane and was very comfortable in summer, but used poppers which were inclined to pop undone in certain exerting type circumstances, also it didn't dry that quickly.
The other was velcro, definitely waterproof, quicker drying and you could wet them so much that they would slide off! In that condition they were dodgy if you sat down.
I have also tested several washable bedpads, thoroughly lol.
Usually there is a question sheet, and it is nearly always obvious whether the question setter is a wetter, and I have sometimes had correspondence following my comments. I have never been asked to return the tested products.
