I did not mean to imply that "love" was the only thing that a woman wants out of a relationship.
However, regardless of what pop psychology might say, there is a distinct difference between the way a woman's brain and a man's brain is wired.
While I acknowledge that there are exceptions to every rule, for the most part, the woman's perspective centers around the emotions and sense of security in a relationship.
While on the other hand, the man's brain is wired to: Hunt-Kill-enjoy! If you look at the primitive cultures, this was a requirement for survival. The guys would be driven out of need to hunt and kill. After they dragged the carcus back to the settlement, they handed it off to the women to clean and prepare it. Once prepared, it was time to eat. Once full, it was time for pleasure. Once satisfied, the guys then went and hung out together and were concerned on protecting the settlement from animals and intruders.
When on a hunt or while on watch, one does NOT talk! Talk compromises your position and distracts you from your mission.
On the other hand, women gathered together brush for the fire and then maintained the camp. They had ample time for conversation, directed and idle.
Women today are still conversational. My wife always asks me, "How was work today?" After my exchange, she expects me to ask her about her day. I listen to all that happened and more importantly, her emotions that surround the events. While I want to give her specifics on how to deal with her problems, she does NOT want that. I'm analytical and she's about the relationship. She has a solution already decided (for the most part). What she wants from me is to listen to her heart. No don't get me wrong, I'm not implying that she is illogical. She holds two master degrees and can slice anyone apart with her whit.
Trust me, for a detailed oriented person, I find it hard not to give advice. I have to remember that it is all about relationships with her. For the most part, men still have the instinct of hunt-kill and enjoy. Men are still, for the most part, NOT conversational.
Compound the problem with the fact that visual stimuli affect men on an order of magnitude that most women cannot understand. The porn industry is build around this fact. Why do you think that most porn is directed towards men? Just the quick view of a woman can cause a man to lust after her.
My understanding is that most women do not get the same stimuli from a simple glimpse of a man.
These are simply the facts of life. Men and women are different and always will be.
