Well simply wearing 24/7 is one matter, but using 24/7 is another. If your aim is incontinence, you will need to deal with soggy (and/or messy) diapers. I've found it best to have a convenient stash(es) like in your closet, car, or in a diaper bag. Yes, you will need a diaper bag so pick yourself out a good one. Keep with you a small plastic shopping bag or two for discrete and tidy disposal. Wipes, oil, and even disposable gloves are all a good idea too.
At first, you'll "flood" you diapers but after a while your bladder will shrink (but only if you use your diapers constantly!) then you'll start having urge incontinence (the sudden need to go). Also, each volume will be less and your diapers will handle it easier.
Yes, your diapers-- as i'm a disposable kind of guy, i find that ordering by the case is the best. And don't skimp-- the value of a good diaper cannot be underestimated. Look for a good fit and refastenable tapes (cause saggy diapers can be terrible in public). The good, absorbent diapers will last longer, so fewer changes are necessary.
Lastly, about your clothes. Make things easier by arranging your wardrobe to fit your diaper lifestyle-- get rid of your underwear and tight pants. Snap-crotch "onesies" are excellent, and i highly reccomend wearing one over diapers as an undershirt. Plastic pants have their benefits, such as protection against leaks and noise, but can add bulk too.
Well there you have it, my $.02 for 24/7.
