Kick backs for referrals are pretty standard in other industries. Ever had a friend reccomend a car dealership and salesman to you. If so, chances are that the "referrer" is getting what the car salesmen call a "finders fee". It, in this case, is usually a set amount like $50.00. I personally see nothing wrong with this practice as long as the kickback isn't added to the price I have to pay. Or to put it another way, the retailer makes 4% less profit in this case.
