33' waist sounds like a Medium, but measure your hips instead -- that's the important dimension! But don't trust that, pick your brand and check their website! Larger is better, as you can make those fit.
I'm assuming you are in the continental US, so go look in your local drugstore or grocery and see what is available while you are buying other stuff. Depends works pretty well under a pair of regular underwear for me, though not with floods. I think some like the Walmart house brand, but I have moral objections to the place (drives out small merchants, you end up with much worse net selection) and never set foot inside anymore.
Pick up some underpads for your car seat, and bring along extra pants in case you leak on your drive home. Wear a coat with pockets so you can stuff a diaper in it so when you go to the restroom so you can get it on unobtrusively.
Note on disposing: DON'T try to flush one of those things -- they are too big for your toilet! Put it in a garbage can (quite possibly not yours) where either the stink won't be noticed or bag it up in a zipper-lock bag after spilling an ounce or three of ordinary drugstore hydrogen peroxide on it so it won't stink until your own garbage man picks it up at the end of the week.
