Don't know where you live; my advice reflects the eastern US, where I have lived.
When I was underage, I used to buy beer without getting carded at the grocery store by buying it along with a basketful of groceries. The clerk never noticed the beer. Same might apply to diapers, since the usual ones can be bought in grocery stores and you will eat the groceries anyway. Be sure to use cash.
And no clerk ever says anything; if they do, and you speak to the manager about it, guess who has just lost their job?
Finally, though you can't do this anymore since I hear diapersuperstore.com is shut down, I once mailed a money order to cover an on-line order for diapers. Be sure to get them in plain brown boxes. I also have a rented mailbox from what is now the UPS Store; I can pick up a package from their counter (and probably UPS, too!) any time during the business day or Saturday. It's cheap; box rent is only $10 per month; they just put a slip in the box when something big arrives.
As for my first time, I was working in a pharmacy and paid for a pair of futuro incontinence pants (polyurethane rubber/nylon with side snaps) from the slow moving stock in the basement. I'd periodically go downtown to where P&G (Proctor and Gamble) was selling attends, and get some of those. And yes, I was a pretty nervous high-school student when I was getting my stuff.
I figured that if I saw someone I actually knew, I was on a mission for someone else, basically my aunt bunbury, who was visiting.
