So someone added me as a friend on a forum recently, and I went to send a return mail basically saying thanks, hope it works out. Then I got the response "this user's inbox is full". I double checked and "she" had only registered 10 hours before. I've got a few questions I suppose, based on the following:

Looking at her profile, it was slightly dubious - she was a shy woman (ok...) of good character (reeeaaaally?) and had interests including arts "in all their manifestations"(wtf?) Hmm. Looked like a scammer to me with the hallmarks of non-native english grammar.

So, she registered and had a full inbox in 10 hours? For the women out there, is this a usual thing? Are we guys really just messaging anyone new and giving women that much hassle?

Personally, if this is the case, I must be quite passive. Explains why I don't seem to get anywhere, but I don't agree with messaging / contacting all the women I can in a shotgun approach and seeing who replies.

It's been talked about here before I think, but I'd be interested to know how women would like to be befriended on these sites, because from what I'm seeing as a picture, it seems that the only way to stand a chance of meeting someone is to do what it appears every other guy is doing - spam a load of inboxes, watch for new women and hope someone replies. Which I've no intention of doing tbh.
