I've seen quite a few accidents at the University(mainly @ the UW University of Washington)
I just think its aweird mix - people bright enough to know better but not yet mature enough. They won't get up during a test or they won't excuse themselves in front of friends and sometimes just experimental - wondering how long they can hold it.
Most students haven't been away from home that long.
My freshman year I had a girl right next to me piss herself during a test - and I saw one girl who had abviously wet her pants and was upset about it just during a class - it was abig class though (500+ students) that was in 91 so I wasn't exposed to the internet.
A girl I'm with now went back to college after a long absense - she complained that the classes lasted to long and that she almost didn't make it - plus the janitorial staff likes cleaning the girls bathrooms during class breaks for some reason.
here is a very independent 34 year old woman (very sexy though) nearly pissing herself in a regular lecture because she was slightly shy and not used to being the first to get up and leave.
I explained to her that is just part of the experience - pissing yourself versus people knowing you have to pee is just a part of learning.
I've notice in managing and working with people that college aducated people seem more likely to excuse themselves and excuse themselves more frequently - I don't know if that is from experience or if its from a realization of self worth. At a certain point of success a person stops worrying about beng best or at least loses the fantasy of being super human.
